How certification works
There are no classes to attend and no fixed exam dates. You study from the course guide and take the exam when you're ready.
-
Choose a certification
Pick the program closest to your work. Each one assumes you already practice the underlying discipline, so the guide spends its time on what AI changes, not on the basics. The recommended experience is listed on each program's page.
-
Enroll with the Institute
The Institute registers you for the certifications you choose. You'll get an email with a link to choose your password, and from then on you log in with your email address to take your exams and see your certificates.
-
Download the course guide
The full course guide is a free PDF. It sets out the learning outcomes, the modules and their topics, and an exercise at the end of each module. Most people need the study hours shown on the program page, spread over a few weeks.
-
Do the exercises
The exercises are where the learning sticks. Use your own projects where you can. The exam questions are written around the same situations the exercises cover.
-
Sit the exam online
Log in and start the exam from your account. Your certificate shows your name as the Institute registered it, so check it before you begin. You then answer multiple-choice questions against a timer. Every attempt draws a different selection of questions and shuffles the answers.
-
Receive your certificate
Your result appears as soon as you submit. If you pass, your certificate is issued straight away with a unique credential number. You can print it or save it as a PDF, and anyone can confirm it on the verification page.
-
Stay current
Certifications are valid for 3 years. AI practice moves quickly, so you renew by passing the current version of the exam before your certification expires.
